My Intro to the Blogging World...

Hey there to whoever may be reading!

Please excuse me, but I really don't know how to get this started!  I was sick a few days ago and came accross an infertility blog.  I became obsessed with reading them... It seemed like a good outlet since only my family, my husband's family and the members of our small group know what we are going through right now.  We are still kind of at a loss and in shock about this, and things are beginning to move very quickly.  The infertility community seems like such a strong, supportive and tight knit community and I was hoping to find the same support that so many other bloggers have found.  So this is a little about me and our story...

A tiny bit about me- I'm 5'2, strawberry blonde who grew up just outside of Nashville, TN.  After finishing nursing school, I decided I was young and single and I needed to try something new so I moved to Baltimore, MD to work at the Number One hospital in the country.  My husband is a 6'3 lacrosse player, who grew up in upstate New York and moved to Maryland after college to be closer to family.  I LOVE our height difference!  We met in July 2007 and got married in November 2009.  We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day or amazing wedding.  I'm one of those weird ones who would totally do their wedding all over again and not even change a thing!  We adopted our yellow lab, Sidney, from Lab Rescue of the Mid-Atlantic.  She is the best dog we could have ever asked for and is completely spoiled rotten.  She has her mom and dad wrapped around her little paws (yes, I know- CORNY! but I love her!) and loves giving kisses.  We are becoming more involved in our local church and absolutely love the couples in our small group.  In our free time we enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors.

Since my husband and I started dating we always talked about kids - we called them our "invisible children."  We talked about what sports they would play (obviously lacrosse!) and how they would all get college scholarships to D-1 schools.  We discussed what bad traits they would get from each of us (big noses, receding hair lines, freckles, etc).  We never thought we would have issues conceiving.  My mom always warned me growing up that she was "very fertile" so we probably were too (I have two sisters and a brother).  In January 2010 we stopped "trying NOT to get pregnant."  By that summer I was buying the ovulation kits, but nothing ever worked out.  My husband I decided we bought so many HPT and Ovulation kits that we should have bought stock in those companies!  In January 2011 we met with our RE who is amazing!  Every test on me checked out completely normal... however, my husband was diagnosed with severely low sperm count.  We've been lucky so far and are suppose to start our first round of IVF with ICSI in a few weeks!  All the luck and prayers right now are much needed.

This is Sidney our dog dressed up in her University of Tennessee Cheer Outfit watching the football game... GO VOLS!!!

"...For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,
"Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future..."

Jeremiah 29:11

Even though these weren't the plans we had originally, I know that God has a plan for us....

Thanks so much for the comment on my blog. I'm glad to be a giver of hope for you as you continue to walk the painful journey through infertility. I love your guys' height difference! How fun is that! I bet he makes you feel so protected! :) Sidney is a cutie, too! I'm looking forward to following your journey to your BFP! :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Sounds like we're in the same boat, me okay (for now, I have this underlying fear we'll try all this and then find something wrong with me) and DH WAY low sperm count (under 10,000). We've got three totsicles waiting for us so I'm just researching acupunture right now, not sure how well it works for FET but I've heard great things for IVF. Let me know if you have any questions about IVF and ICSI. Menopur's a b***h and don't use the Q-cup-that's my advice! LOL

Good luck with everything! You're right about the infertile community being a supportive group. My blog and all the amazing women who follow it, along with all the women I met through babycenter have been so amazing! This journey would be so much harder without the support of all these fabulous women!

I am thinking about writing on my blog too, I too recently was obsessed with reading the blogs. You are the first blog I have commented on because you are just like me. I have a tall husband, started trying right before you, met the RE in Jan, and have male infertility where hopefully IVF with ISCI, we should be starting in a few weeks. We have told basically no one except, 2 good friends and my life group. Oh and I am a nurse too. I will be rooting for you. Arica
