First- I want to thank everyone for their support yesterday and for all my new followers! Your comments and thoughts helped make me feel so much better!
I went to the RE this morning for more bloodwork and another ultrasound. The doctor said that I definitely hadn't ovulated yet and my uterus looked beautiful. He didn't really count all my follicles- but said that I still have "a ton." He was more just checking to make sure I hadn't ovulated. The nurse called this afternoon and said my estrogen had tripled so we are good to go tomorrow! I asked her if the drop in estrogen could affect my egg quality and she said it was really too hard to say exactly what happened- they don't know why my estrogen dropped (I could have ovulated a little bit or could have been a lab error) so there was really no telling what my eggs would be like. She did say that since we have like 40-50 follicles- she thinks I'll have no problem having enough good eggs in there. The big question for us is... is there going to be enough good sperm!? :)
I hope ya'll get a kick out of this... So since my estrogen had dropped yesterday they decided to trigger me with the HCG shot instead of the Lupron. My hubby said that he would do it for me, but the longer I waited and the more I looked at the size of the needle, I was getting a little stressed out about it (read this to see just how naive he is with medical stuff). I called up one of my best friends (who is also a nurse) and asked if we could meet somewhere for my shot. She lives about 30min away so we met at a mall in the middle... It seemed like the best place, especially since we both had to get some wedding stuff for one of our friends. So... at exactly 8:30pm in the dressing room of Nordstroms, in between trying on various pairs of SEVEN (my favorite) jeans... my friend gave my IM injection of HCG. Didn't hurt one bit... until this morning.... Now, I feel like I have to be honest with you all. This wasn't the first time I had done my shots in a public place. When I went to Cirque du Soleil last week, since I had come straight from work and was running late, I gave my shots in the bathroom there (I was very clean and used lots of alcohol swabs- I promise!!!). I really hope I am not the only one who does things like this!!!
Also- I wanted to share this video clip of Carrie Underwood singing "How Great Thou Art" for CBS' Girls Night Out that was broadcasted on Good Friday. It was amazing and actually brought tears to my eyes and gave me goosebumps. I wanted to share it with you earlier, but this was the first time I was able to!

Wow! You know that's an amazing performance when she gets a standing ovation way before the song is even over! So beautiful.
I'm so happy to see you estrogen peaked up! And wow, 40-50 eggs, holy smokes! Your body is quite the machine! :) Best of luck to you tomorrow!
Stopping by from ICLW. I have given and taken shots everywhere. Its par for the course during this IF game :-). Good luck and I hope everything goes well!
Good luck with your retrieval. Drink LOTS of fluids afterwards. I had over 40 follies as well, 41 retrieved eggs and had mild OHSS symptoms. The more fluids you take in, the easier it is to expel the fluid that will refill the follies. Don't be surprised if you're very sore afterwards, but it's TOTALLY worth it in the end! :o)
Good luck at your retrieval. Lot's of rest and fluids. And then it'll be time for transfer before you even know it!!! hooray!
