This cycle just seemed too easy. That is until the two week wait started. This center does things so much different then my old center. .. which involves- as you can probably guess- s lot more waiting.
We transferred one high quality (per our center's recommendation) blast on June 8. We find out a few days later that we had 8 total to freeze (we never even made it to blast (since our one successful was a 3 day). I started testing around 7dp5dt and got obvious 2 lines. Of course I was able to tell hubby on father's day that he is going to be a dad again. Of coursethe possible test want good enough considering my beta wasn't until 13dp5dt. I tested for a few more days and then convinced myself the test was getting lighter not darker. Tested a few more times and it did get darker again. I went in beta day expecting low numbers-- especially with my lack of symptoms. Like NO symptoms. I was pleasantly surprised when the nurse called with my beta of 783. Told me to decrease my progesterone to reduce a day and come back Monday for another test.
So I did not have ANY symptoms over the weekend. Thought the worst all day today. I was dreading my phone call which of course didn't happen until four! The longer it was the more I thought I was getting bad news. The nurse finally called and my beta was 2214 for 16dp5dt (or 5 weeks pregnant). A dining time of exactly 48 hours. Now I have to wait until July 5 for an ultrasound. This is going to be the longest week and a half ever! Unless I start to have some symptoms I'm going to be stressing until then!
Any ideas to distract me during this wait besides googling every little thing! !!

transfer
Transferred one high grade blast. One so far made it to freeze. Our doctor really recommended reading only one since with the quality of the embryos or chance of multiples was over 40%. Now the wait begins.

day after retrieval
22 eggs retrieved yesterday. Such a HUGE difference between this center and my old center. Today I got the report that 20 eggs were mature and 17 fertilized normally. Because of those numbers we are looking at a five day transfer probably- but we'll see tomorrow and the next day as to how they are growing. When transferring five day blasts out center highly recommends transferring only one. I'm scared to death of doing that! I'm scared of having twins and the risks that come with that (not to mention-I really don't think I'm organized enough to have twins! ) but I'm also scared of transferring one and it not working! Ack! Advice needed (if anyone still reads! )

Ack! Retrieval tomorrow! I have had about 18 follicles on ultrasound. This cycle like my other two I had a drop in my estrogen so who knows if that is going to leave me not many eggs at retrieval like my other cycles. This facility is so much more on top of things then the last center I used. I have been too the doc for ultrasound and bloodwork every day for the last week! My poor arms! ! So they were able to catch the drop early and it didn't stop much. We shall see! The people here are very optimistic. Still trying not to get my hope up too much though!
It is different going this time around. I am much more distracted- which is definitely a good thing!

round 3
I can't believe I'm writing this, but we are a go for IVF round 3, baby 2. We are using a different center and slightly different protocol this time. Today is cycle day 2 and I'm to start my 2-3 weeks of birth control tomorrow and then injections right after. I can't believe we are doing this again. At first, with our initial consultation and everything I was feeling very confident... but now as it is closer to really happening I'm getting more nervous. This center does have much better success rates than the last center we used... so we'll see. It is different going through again already having a successful cycle. I'm hoping this will helpme be more relaxed having this constant distraction.
Hubby and I decided to start "trying" again as soon as baby was close to one. Since we have to do infertility treatments there is no telling how long is going to take- one cycle, twochicks, five cycles? We just know that we would love to have another baby and really want Jonathan to be a big brother. So here we go again?!

update
Hey all. I'm not sure if anyone is following this blog anymore. .. but I wanted to say hi and to let you know that I am starting a family blog.http://teambabycakes.blogspot.com/?m=0 this post year went by so fast and I wish I had kept up blogging better.
Anyways. I have still been following everyone's blogs. I might start writing here again soon as it looks like we'll be starting ivf again with a different center. I have my follow up next Thursday.
How everyone is doing well.
Because I'm updating on my phone and having some issues with the link here it is one more time.

The Nursery
After moving we had a lot of help getting the house painted. I had already picked out which room I wanted to be the nursery, but it was BRIGHT PINK! Luckily good friends from church came and helped paint the room and get it baby ready!
I searched and searched for a "theme" I wanted for the boys rooms. I didn't know what I wanted, I just knew that I didn't want Monkeys or Jungle themes. I sent my husband different ideas and he was always like I don't care, it is your decision. Thanks for the help! heh. So I came across this theme one day. I was like dogs (we LOVE our dog Sidney) and sports (we both LOVE sports and are pretty athletic). What could be a better combination! I sent it to my husband and he responded- LOVE IT! And the rest was history! ;)
What the room looked like when we bought the house... definitely not for a boy!!

All done! We used "Bow Wow" Bedding by Lambs and Ivy
My little sister used the puppies in the quilt as an idea and painted the pictures above the crib
I just love it!
Hoping the little man and Sid are best friends :)
This was my husband's dresser when he was a kid. My dad refinished it and we added some fun knobs!
Close up
Sporty knobs
Now we are just keeping our fingers crossed that JD isn't allergic to dogs or scared of them! Right now he is absolutely obsessed with Sidney. He giggles and squeals everytime he sees her!
