It has been a VERY long while..

WOW!  The last time I posted I was 23 weeks pregnant... and now I have a 4 month old...  I can't believe it.... Soon after I posted, life picked up REALLY fast.  I have been reading everyone's stories on my phone but that makes it very difficult to comment and post.  We have a desktop computer in our basement office, but I don't like hanging down there much, so I FINALLY unpacked my old laptop, so HOPEFULLY I will get a little better with this posting thing!

Officially Closed 12/31/11
So I last posted right around Thanksgiving.  My husband had just had a varicocele repair, we spent Thanksgiving in Ohio with my family, and we just found out we were having a boy.  We had put our townhouse for sale in August/September and at the beginning of December we got an offer... catch is: they wanted to close December 30!  Yikes!  We couldn't move into the single family house we had put an offer on until mid-February (keep in mind- that would make me 8mo pregnant!)!  Luckily we were able to negotiate a rent back with the buyers so we wouldn't have to move twice.

(Just FYI, little man just had a huge blowout- up the back, in the hair, somehow on his arm and face... I dunno... going straight to the bath!)

Come January, our Realtor told us that the lady we were buying our house from was wondering if we could move up the move date to mid-January instead of February!  This was perfect!  I was getting really nervous about moving less than a month before my due date!

This only gave us a few weeks to pack.move.  By this point, I was HUGE.  On my days off, I would pack, and then at night my husband would pack boxes into both cars and we would drive over to the new house at night and he would unpack the cars (my poor husband).  We had about a week overlap where we had both houses.  My parents even came one weekend to help.  My mom was nervous I would be doing too much.  Before the official move, we had our carpets professionally cleaned, certain rooms (with high ceilings) professionally painted, and then our friends and family helped paint (almost) the rest of the house!  It was AMAZING how much we got accomplished during just a few days with the help of our family and friends.

Our house!!

So during all this "fun" while I was packing one day... I stepped backwards, tripped over a box that I was packing and fell on my butt/back.  I didn't know what to do so I called my husband at work and he suggested I should call the doctor just to let them know.  I told him not to worry, but I am glad he suggested I do that.(by this point in my pregnancy,  I had already started to become increasingly paranoid about the lack of movement I had been feeling, but everytime I told the doctor, they brushed it off to an anterior placenta.  My anxiety had gotten so bad that I was taking my doppler to work to check on baby during breaks!)...  I didn't want to call and overreact- so any chance I may get extra monitoring, I would take it! LOL  When I called the nurse, she said she thought it was fine since I had landed on my butt, but she would check with the doctor just in case.  I called my husband and told him not to worry because they didn't need me to come in.  However, 2 hours later, the on call nurse calls back saying they wanted me to go to L&D for some extra monitoring (extra monitoring, yay!!)... unfortunately we were now entering DC rush hour traffic and it has taken my husband over 2hrs to get home before.... well I called him, and he was able to get home in record time.  I think he was more nervous than me!  LOL... Well we went for the extra monitoring and everytime I told the story, it made people laugh (I mean, it probably sounded pretty funny to think of this 7.5mo pregnant lady falling backwards into a huge moving box and probably only seeing her legs sticking out!).  Luckily little man looked good and we were sent home.

The next 2 mo were filled with working, unpacking, anxiety, baby showers and a healthy baby boy!  Birth Story next post!
